This year, we were assigned a large project that involved building a training environment from shipping containers for the Finnish Defence Forces. The project involved customising seven shipping containers. Conscripts use the training environment to take part in exercises. Each container has a separate purpose.

The project advanced to practical implementation at the end of January and was completed in the summer. Each shipping container was given a unique interior. The containers were used for purposes such as storage, showers and changing rooms. When you look inside, it is hard to believe it is a shipping container. The project enabled us to capitalise on the strengths of our installation technicians, resulting in some stunning spaces.

All additional components for the containers, such as stairs and ramps, were manufactured in-house. The project also involved installing roofs, which was carried out on site. The project also involved procuring the accessories used in the containers.

In that sense, the project was a turnkey delivery.
